Yes these are scary & turbulent times we are living in. It is hard to stay balanced emotionally, physically & spiritually with all the information we’re being bombarded with daily. FEAR can be an ugly word and it can motivate human beings to do the unthinkable because of their primitive urges to survive. Some horrific things have been brought to my attention of what some people are doing to their pets right now because of the Coronavirus virus. People are getting rid of their pets in a myriad of ways, abandoning them daily and turning them into kill shelters.
It is because of this I am writing this article to keep all of you my precious pet community informed with clarity so you can know the truth about the Corona virus and your pets and what to do to keep them safe as well as yourself. Please read this and pass it on to anyone who may need it.
According to the FACTS…
You CAN NOT catch the virus from your pets!!!
There is no evidence that your pet dog or cat can pass on the new coronavirus.
UK experts say reports of a dog in Hong Kong repeatedly testing positive should not lead people to panic. “We have to differentiate between real infection and just detecting the presence of the virus,” says Prof Jonathan Ball, professor of molecular virology at the University of Nottingham. “I still think it’s questionable how relevant it is to the human outbreak as most of the global outbreak has been driven by human-to-human transmission.”
He added: “We need to find out more, but we don’t need to panic – I doubt it could spread to another dog or a human because of the low levels of the virus.” But you should still wash your hands regularly with soap and water after touching pets. Even cuddly ones can carry bacteria such as E.coli and salmonella – and these are bugs that can pass between pets and humans. To ensure keeping your pets safety keep them at home. No dog parks right now until we get this better under control.
For my clients that have it, YES my T.E.O.S. The Potty Solution formula kills viruses and bacteria on surfaces and is safe for the pets.
The new coronavirus (called SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease Covid-19) is thought to have originated in wildlife and been passed to humans via a live animal market in Wuhan, China which probably came from a human. The virus could have gone unnoticed in animals before jumping to humans, which is how many viruses start. eg. avian flu, Ebola, Sars.
Scientists say the likelihood of the virus making yet another jump to another species like dogs or cats in such a short space of time is very, very , very, small. During the Sars outbreak in 2003, a small number of cats and dogs tested positive for the virus. These animals did not transmit the virus to other animals of the same species, or to humans.
There you have it! PLEASE DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR PETS BECAUSE OF FEAR & IGNORANCE about the Coronavirus. They are your family and to do that would be the highest level of betrayal. Many pets have already been unnecessarily KILLED because of unreal, unproven, rumors. People please STOP IT!
We will all get through this together by practicing wisdom & safe, consistent hygiene . Of course get your provisions you need like food, water, toiletries, cleaning products without going to extreme… like buying up all the toilet paper in the world from everyone else. And above al BREATHE & educate yourselves.
Until next time stay safe & remember PETS RULE!
